Dodge Durango GT America250: A Patriotic Refresh for the Red, White, and Blue

Dodge is leveraging America’s upcoming 250th birthday with a limited-edition SUV that blends nostalgia with modern design. The 2026 Dodge Durango GT America250, unveiled at the New York Auto Show, is the first product of a partnership between Stellantis and America250, the organization spearheading the nation’s semi-quincentennial celebrations.

Cosmetic Upgrades with a Twist

While Dodge pushes for an electric future, it hasn’t forgotten its loyal customer base. The Durango GT America250 focuses on visual updates rather than mechanical changes, but some details are unexpected. For the first time, Dodge is extending Black Laguna leather seats – previously reserved for higher trim levels – to the GT model.

The interior features blue perforated inserts, embossed American flags, and bold red-and-white stitching. The steering wheel mirrors the patriotic theme with matching stitching, alongside Demonic Red seat belts and forged carbon-fiber trim.

Exterior Design: Stripes and Stars

Outside, the America250 edition stands out with star-pattern dual stripes accented in blue, plus dedicated America250 fender decals and 20-inch Black Noise wheels. The design is most striking on White Knuckle-painted models, where the stripe package is exclusive. However, buyers can also choose Red Oxide, Night Moves blue, Destroyer Gray, or Diamond Black.

Powertrain Options: V6 or V8?

Under the hood, the Durango GT America250 retains the familiar engine options: a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 producing 295 hp, or a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 with 360 hp. Surprisingly, the V8-powered GT HEMI Plus starts at just $51,270—only $1,680 more than the V6 model, making it an attractive option for those who prefer more power without a huge price increase. Orders open in early April.

The Durango GT America250 exemplifies how automakers tap into national pride for limited-run models. Whether it’s genuine celebration or shrewd marketing, the SUV is sure to appeal to buyers seeking a blend of patriotism and performance.
