Ford Mach-E Recall: Headlight Failure Risk

Ford is recalling 166 Mustang Mach-E electric vehicles manufactured between 2024 and 2025 due to a potential defect in the LED Driver Control Module (LDCM). The issue can cause the headlights – including high beams, low beams, daytime running lights, and position lamps – to fail entirely.

What the Recall Means

The failure poses a serious safety risk. Drivers with malfunctioning headlights will have reduced visibility, particularly at night. Other drivers may also struggle to see the Mach-E in dark conditions, increasing the chance of collisions resulting in injury or death.

How to Check if Your Vehicle is Affected

Ford states that affected vehicles will display a warning message in the instrument cluster, and the turn signal indicator will flash rapidly.

To confirm if your car is part of the recall, consult the attached Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) list or contact Ford directly at 133 673. The original recall notice is also available for review.

Corrective Action

If your Mach-E is affected, schedule a free repair appointment with an authorized Ford dealership. The repair involves replacing the faulty LDCM module.

This recall highlights the importance of quality control in modern vehicles, particularly with complex electronic systems. While electric vehicles are generally reliable, defects in critical components like lighting modules can have severe consequences.

Ford encourages owners to address this issue promptly to ensure safe operation.
