Lynk & Co 03 Gets Aggressive Carbon Fiber Wing in China

Lynk & Co, Geely’s performance-oriented brand, will release a new version of its 03 sedan in China featuring a prominent carbon fiber rear spoiler. The model, launching March 5th, combines a 268-horsepower engine with aggressive styling – a move likely to appeal to the tuning-focused Chinese market.

A Familiar Platform, Updated Style

The Lynk & Co 03 debuted in 2018 and shares its CMA modular architecture with the Volvo XC40. While marketed as a “third generation,” the latest update is actually a facelift. The newest variant, available since October 2025, now includes the “Large Rear Wing Edition.” This version stands out with its factory-installed carbon fiber spoiler, adjustable to three angles (0°, 8°, and 16°) for enhanced stability.

Styling and Performance Details

The spoiler features “Downforce” lettering and a graphic of the Ningbo International Circuit, a nod to the model’s racing heritage. Additional styling cues include a blackened ducktail spoiler, sporty rims, and a “Fiery Red” interior.

Under the hood, the car features a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 268 hp and 400 Nm of torque. It pairs with an Aisin 8-speed automatic transmission and offers front-wheel drive. Performance figures indicate a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 6.5 seconds.

Why This Matters: China’s Car Culture

The addition of a large spoiler to a car with moderate performance might seem unusual, but it’s a strategic move for the Chinese market. Lynk & Co already offers a higher-performance variant, the 03+ (up to 350 hp), that also features a carbon fiber spoiler. This new edition provides an affordable way for enthusiasts to achieve a similar look.

The Lynk & Co 03 has become something of a tuner icon in China, partly due to the success of its racing version in the World Touring Car Cup. Lynk & Co is now offering factory-legal upgrades for a market that actively customizes its vehicles.

The move capitalizes on the model’s racing credibility and caters to China’s active tuning community. It allows Lynk & Co to provide factory-supported modifications that would otherwise be pursued through aftermarket channels. While the performance isn’t groundbreaking, the aggressive styling and association with motorsports will likely resonate with buyers seeking a sporty image.

The Lynk & Co 03 Large Rear Wing Edition represents a targeted marketing approach, leveraging brand recognition and catering to a specific consumer preference in the Chinese automotive landscape.
