Mercedes-Benz has launched its first all-electric estate car, the CLA Shooting Brake, with a starting price just under £50,000. The long-roof variant of the new CLA EV offers up to 469 miles of range – currently the highest among any estate on the UK market.
Pricing and Variants
The CLA Shooting Brake is available in two configurations:
– Rear-wheel drive 250: Starting at £47,750 (approximately £2,000 more than the saloon version).
– Four-wheel drive 350 4Matic: Priced from £56,235.
A petrol-hybrid option will follow shortly, expected to be more affordable.
Performance and Charging
Both models utilize an 85kWh battery pack. The single-motor 250 delivers a maximum range of 469 miles, while the dual-motor 350 achieves up to 451 miles.
The CLA Shooting Brake also supports ultra-fast 320kW rapid charging, making it one of the quickest-charging EVs available in the UK.
Trim Levels
Mercedes-Benz offers five trim levels:
– Sport
– Sport Executive
– AMG Line Premium
– AMG Line Premium Plus
The top-spec 350 4Matic AMG Line Premium Plus reaches a price of £60,785.
Why this matters: Electric estates are becoming increasingly popular as buyers seek sustainable family vehicles without compromising practicality. The CLA Shooting Brake’s impressive range and rapid charging capabilities position it as a strong competitor in the growing EV market, particularly for those prioritizing both space and efficiency.
The hybrid option will further broaden its appeal to consumers not yet ready to fully commit to electric.
