July 26th. Mark it down. The British Motor Museum is turning rainbow again for its second go at Petrol & Pride. It’s a day for anyone who loves wheels and wants to celebrate with the LGBTQIA+ community.
The vibe? Inclusive. Unapologetic. Loud if you want it to be.
Bring the Wheels
There is no pecking order here. Seriously. If it runs and you love it, it belongs there. You can show off a Bentley if you fancy the attention, or roll up in a rusty VW Beetle that’s held together with hope and tape. Does anyone care about the brand hierarchy at this party? No.
They want your ride. The one you actually care about. That’s the whole point.
Expect a sea of color. The brightest cars will literally make a pride flag in the center of the show. There’s music playing too, food trucks serving up sustenance, and a bit of friendly competition. Judges will hand out prizes in various categories.
It’s not just about the cars, it’s about who gets to show them off.
The Fine Print
Entry is £13. That gets you into the museum and the Collections Centre. The money doesn’t stay in corporate pockets though. All proceeds go to two places. An LGBTQIA+ charity and the museum itself to keep their doors open.
It’s a straightforward transaction. You pay. Good stuff happens.
Ready to drive? Check the info and snag a ticket at Petrol & Pride before the spots fill up. Who knows, you might find your own tribe out there. Or just someone who likes your car paint.
